Howard Open MRI Centeris an independent facility, locally owned and operated.

We are located in the River Hill Professional Center in Clarksville where we have worked with hundreds of area doctors, participating in the care of patients totaling over 30,000 exams. Each one of our patients is treated with warmth, compassion and individuality. Our unique philosophies regarding radiologist relations and management services make Howard Open MRI Center the ideal out-patient MRI site for patients and clinicians.

Our center is most convenient to Columbia, Elkridge, Ellicott City, Fulton, Glenelg, Highland, Jessup, Laurel, and West Friendship.

Howard Open MRI Center is renowned for providing MRI and MRA services in a comfortable and stress-free setting. No claustrophobic tunnels where patients feel trapped and alone. Our spacious scan room allows a parent, friend or other individual to sit alongside the patient during the scan. Many patients are relieved to be next to, or holding the hand of, a loved one during the procedure.

Our facility is accredited by the American College of Radiology. The ACR Accreditation means that we have voluntarily gone through a rigorous review process to be sure we meet nationally accepted standards. The ACR determined that our personnel are well qualified, through education and certification to perform and interpret your medical images, that our equipment is appropriate for the test you will receive and that our facility meets or exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines.

Comparing traditional out-patient and in-patient radiology sites where numerous radiologists interpret the images and create the reports, Howard Open MRI Center offers the expertise and continuity of two radiologists, Dr. Elizabeth Hartman and Dr. Abbott Huang. This unique company structure creates a personalized MRI experience for referring clinicians and patients.

Dr. Hartman and Dr. Huang are board certified radiologists with extensive training in all types of imaging. Dr. Hartman serves as our chief radiologist and medical director at Howard Open MRI Center. She is the reading radiologist the majority of the time. Her Johns Hopkins MRI Fellowship focused on both neurological and musculoskeletal imaging. Dr. Abbott Huang is the reading radiologist at Howard Open MRI Center the remaining time. He has subspecialty interest in musculoskeletal and body MRI and has special expertise and training in foot and ankle imaging.
